8/52 Winter Sunset - Well since this week I happend to be out of my picturesque landscape area of Northern New England…I think that this ‘water landscape’ will do nicely for the weekly theme. This is a very pretty Fort Myers Beach sunset. It is winter vacation week for the kids and over the past couple of years we have been coming to Fort Myers every other year with the family. So even though it's been a great mild winter I'd still take 81 degrees and a sunset any day!

7/52 Fresh Pineapple - This 52 week project is turning out to be a little more challenging than taking a photo per day as in the 365 adventure I completed last year. I find myself thinking about the theme each week and then trying to figure out what to capture to best fits the group. This week was a simple one for the most part although I am burned out taking scenic photos of the town which I live so therefore I was left with this delicious pineapple which we are cutting up tonight and eating!! I remember when I first got into photography several years ago this "Rule of Thirds" was one of the first things I learned and the importance in following this for 90 percent of my photography and composition setup shots. Now of course you will see that the pineapple is placed in the left third and also the horizon is placed in the bottom third of the shot...all that is missing is my little Spongebob toy which I thought of after I took the photo! Also one other fact, it's my favorite fruit.

6/52 Basking in the Sun - PoPo makes the weekly pic for light theme. He spends most of his days in the chair curled up in a ball cozy but around mid-day as the sun hits the front of the house and lights up the living room he shifts his spot and moves to the sun. I happened to get one strobe out for this shot and had it on the ground set up to give a little added 'lighting' effect on him. Oh, and I interrupted precious sleep time.

4/52 Locked Out - Other than taking more water drop photos from last weeks theme, I thought I'd have to get something with some texture. A lot of texture. Wood grain and a lock made the cut for week four and the theme of extreme detail.

3/52 The Big Splash (or tiny splash) - I'd have to say that this was the hardest of the challenge so far. It being only the 3rd week I found getting something out of the ordinary was difficult. This is my first attempt at a photo like this...like several people in the group. A variety of inspiration from the individuals participating with the weekly themes with many outstanding photos and set up shots. I made several attempts and kept it simple by using plain water in a clear glass. To capture the drop was my goal and I got this. Interesting to see the details in the splash...something actually so small really. A first for me. Thanks for making me push the envelop of my creativity.

2/52 My Wife the Super Model - With this week being the 2nd week out of 52 weeks of photos I wanted to continue with keeping to the group theme (I liked the theme which helped me keep to it!). I instantly thought of using my wife Dori as my model for some different photography opportunities and lighting challenges. I am very happy with this photo that I wouldn't have gotten if it were not for the group theme. The photo really captures the beauty of her most gorgeous blue eyes which attracted me to her from when we first met.

Heather and Erik were married in Berlin, NH and braved some of the cold temps for some very nice unique outdoor captures. The reception was held at the T&C in Shelburne, NH. Congrats to the couple in their new life together.

1/52 Deep Freeze - This will be the first of 52 photos for the project. This morning we woke up to super cold temperatures of about 0 degrees fahrenheit. Brutal is one way to describe it. I am originally from Ottawa, Ontario but this is currently where I live in Berlin, NH. Several people who have visited my photos over the years have often commented on how they never knew or heard of another Berlin other than the one in Germany. It's pronounced by the locals here as "Burr-lun". The town was incorporated in 1829 but then was incorporated as an official NH city in 1897. The North Country area was very busy and growing in the very late 18th and early 19th century along the raging Androscoggin River running through with the Mill as the major source of income for families. Times now have changed and after almost 100 years of the area Mills have all but closed. Berlin is in the process of a major transformation since the Mill officially closed in 2006 and with the dedicated people that live here hopefully it will be a place for business growth, travel, tourism and great outdoor adventures in the coming years.

365/365 Final Scene - The end of the year. Wow..A year ago I started this with my morning coffee and it's done. What a year it was..full of highs and lows with regards to photos. I have learned a lot and kept the discipline it took to try to post every day and get some pictures that were less than boring! A nice experience it was and I'm thankful to complete it after a third attempt. Part of me will miss taking photos each day but at the same time I'll be happy not to have to rush and get the day pic. So until the next time..I'll be starting the 52 week project tomorrow!

350/365 Dam! - I forced myself to stop and take this picture along the way to Bethel, Maine in which I was attending a wedding rehearsal this evening. I knew that if I didn't stop and take the picture I wouldn't want to do it after and it would be dark. So this is North Road in Gorham, NH. The Androscoggin River is rushing rapidly with the rain we have the dam is open wide to let the water through. With temperatures above seasonal and no snow this year I am not complaining one bit although for the wedding tomorrow it'll feel more like winter! Brr...cold!

Of course we can't forget the fact that I have wasted a few countless hours playing Angry Birds on it. 318/365 Milan Loop - This is the turning point for the 'Milan Loop'. From Berlin we ride North and then cross the Androscoggin River into the tiny village of Milan and then head back to Berlin. I took this ride this morning with my son before school as we had a bit of time to kill before I dropped him off. He has been wanting me to drop him off at school the past few weeks instead of taking the school bus because he gets more outdoor play time...so I can't argue with that..can I?

313/365 Clear Blue Skies - Third day in a row we have been having spring like weather. I can't complain because it's only a matter of time before it's dark and grey most days with flurries. This morning after dropping the kids off at school I drove north with my coffee and camera to Dummer, NH. One of my favorite parts of NH is just about 20 miles north of where I live. The water is always crystal clear and it's very quiet. It was a very good spot for today's picture.

304/365 Blood Thirsty - My brother and his two girls came down to visit for Halloween this year. This is my niece Krista who was looking rather scary in her vampire costume. She wasn't hungry for candy either, more so looking for some fresh blood!

303/365 Trick or Treat? - I'd say Trick. Woke up this morning to about 6 inches of wet snow. Nice. Makes for pretty pictures though. I can't say I can remember a Halloween with snow...but in the past years it certainly has been warmer than when I was a kid. Although this year it may be a bit cooler than previous!

301/365 Crystal Clear Reflections - On route this morning to get my coffee I brought along the camera. The sky was actually a bright pink and by the time I got to my location the colors changed. Some early morning light coming on top of the mountains with some pristine clear water.

301/365 Bringing Sexy Back! - With the busy year we have had my wife and I haven't had time to just sit down and play around with the camera. We used to always do photo shoots and I'd play around with lighting and she'd play around with hair and makeup. So tonight we did just that. It was fun and this was an outtake from several great photos we got!

299/365 Earth's Time Stamp - Today I needed a break from the office so I decided to go for a walk on a trail. I walked a couple miles into the forest when suddenly the trail stopped. I was waiting for this awe inspiring view or water fall but I was a bit disappointed and settled for a shot of this lighting on mossy roots of the forest ground.

297/365 Blue Hour - I went out to take a few town photos and just when I started shooting initially I realized that I took all my cf cards out of the camera and they were at home! How frustrating. I had to go home and get a card for the camera and go back to my location! Good thing it's not too far otherwise it would be too dark and my light would have been gone for the day. This is the town of Berlin seen from the east side. The mill you see in the foreground is currently in the 2 year progress of being transformed into a biomass plant. What it will hold for the the residence here; only time will tell.

296/365 Morning on the Merrimack River - I found myself in Concord, NH for a wedding and on the way to the church to take some preparation photos I spotted a really beautiful serene scene. The shot was photographed early and the water was pristine! Lovely day for a fall wedding.
